Is Therapy The New Role For Video Games?

"Is that a Video Game -- or Therapy?"

New games purport to make it fun to lose weight, stop smoking, and get healthy with the help of a console. Games are known to improve hand-eye coordination but can they help someone quit smoking or lose weight? Thanks to Nintendo's smash success, "Wii Fit," game makers are introducing new titles with a healthy focus, such as French game publisher Ubisoft's "Allen Carr's Easy way to Stop Smoking" that hits Nintendo DS in November. Also putting weight loss in your palm this summer "My weight loss coach."

Yes. Games are a great way to target those who want to lose weight etc.
No. I doubt this will be as big of a hit as Mario etc. Only a few will be interested in this type of thing!
It may help... But going outdoors and getting 'real' exercise is still the best idea!

No 3!!! What ever the case its the physical exercise which gives you the therapy and keeps your body and mind fit.

OK - here it is - I got a Wii - you can get a work out just as good as any walk - if you play the tennis - or box. I've seen my daughter get winded playing tennis when she plays both front and back player - and she's in decent shape. She just plays it hard enough to do her good.

Number 3, even though wii fit, or some of the wii sports can help you maybe lose a pound or two, the best way to lose weight is to actually run, swim, bike, etc...don't get too sucked into the virtual world! :)
