Everyone is going on about how Global Warming is being caused by Cars and the like. However there is no evidence to support it. Furthermore, there is evidence to suggest that Global Warming is just one of the Earth's natural temperature cycles. What is your view?

I'm an environmental engineer. Yes, there is global warming, yes it is natural. Think about this: there are 28 volcanoes erupting on the earth every single day, dumping billions of tons of CO2 and water vapor into the atmosphere. What can we puny humans do compared to that?

I have no doubt that I will lose this bet because there are way too many people who believe the people, like Al Gore, who are trying to line their pockets by scaring people into spending money on things in which the "global warming is caused by people" crowd have a financial interest. The real scary thing is that a lot of people are buying into the doctored "science" that is being spread by these fanatics.

Yes we are experiencing a period of global warming, however, it is not nearly as severe as other periods in the earths history. Greenland was named because it was a green land when it was discovered. Greenland was then settled and farmed. Is anyone farming in Greenland now. No, it is too cold to farm. By the way, there were no cars or industry to created so-called greenhouse gases then and yet the earth was much warmer than it is now.

global warming is what we experience nowadays..that's why it is natural..but cars also has done a big part on it because it produces one of the pollutant gases that may contribute to global warming.

Actually, it's both. It is part of a natural cycle, we are currently at the end of an ice age. The scary part is it's happening way too fast due to the amount of Carbon Dioxide emitted into the atmosphere, mainly by cars, which makes the atmosphere store more heat collected by the sun rather than allowing most of it to exit the atmosphere as it normally does.

Cars are probably one of the worst contributors to CO2 emissions, however the US government doesn't like to tell you that....

There are climate cycles, but those don't result in the degradation of the world's ozone.

really i think it is both, BUT everyone has to admit that humans are polluting to much. We are the only animals in the world that make a lot of greenhouse gases and pollution. It is up to my generation (I am 13) to prevent the rising tempratures and save greenland, the north pole, polar bears, AND prevent the oceans from flooding Manhatten and many low places. Has anyone here seen the inconvienent truth? There is evidence in that movie!

We did this in physics class, so I'll tell you what I know:
What happens is that our cars emit high levels of CO2 (Carbon Dioxide) which floats up to the ozone layer. The ozone layer already has some CO2 in it, and therefore thicken the layer.
Why is this a bad thing? Here's why:
Our ozone layer protects the earth by shielding us from the worst of the sun's rays, keeping our planet at an average temperature. The rays that do get in are sometimes trapped, but before, the layer was thin enough to let...
