Do people not realize how harmful words can be?

Okay, I am putting myself on the line here, I see so many hurtful comments to people on this site, what has happened here? When I first joined this site there was so much love and kindness, what has happened? Do you realize how harmful mere words can be? I was verbally and physically abused for many years and to be quite honest with you I would rather be hit than to have the harmful words thrown at me. Physical wounds heal but verbal wounds go straight to the heart.

Mental hurting takes years and sometimes a lifetime to heal as physical hurts take, in comparison, a short minute time to heal. I just ignore it now and remember that those that say things like that are inferior and they need to put people down to make themselves feel important. I have a soft shoulder if you would like to talk with me.

I have lived threw a lot of hate and violence, girl gangs beating me and my sister up every day on the way home from school, boy gangs doing the same to our brother, hateful words from them and spouses, raped, etc. What is going on that we can not have a nice place to get together. I was hit with some nasty words playing the arcade game "Snakes" because I was told it was a kid's game and I should not be there. There is a lot of nasty hurtful things being said during those "friendly" game

Great job Deb. If necessary we can weed out the verbal abusers by standing together. In here we should all stick together. We can disagree with each other without abuse. I have been ready to leave this site rather than see my Friends torn up by someone so insensitive.....den

you are so true and right my friend we need to get the love and kindness back a tall order but it can be done great bet :) hurtful words can rip at ones heart and soul deeper than what most people think

there have been a lot of great comments here, and unfortunately bad feelings and Anger grow like a cancer, for which love is the Only cure... My question, is there enough love in this site, is there enough love in each of our hearts to kill this cancer once and for all? Can we remember the love and the care that we each had, and make THAT grow instead of feeding the anger and resentment? ..... I truely hope so

just so sad that people can`t control themselves . There`s no need to show off in this site. we are all same here , we are only players and what you own in this site , how you rank,how much millions you have ,doesn`t mean anything compare to the love and care and good thoughts you are getting from true friends. Cant` anybody see that some are just provoking an arguements to have the commentors fight and argue with each other and then what? where is the provoker?

yes I agree and relate i have been verbaly physical abused and hit and the words have harmed me more than the punches ever did - I have been on this site a long time now and when i started there was alot of support but then no 1 was making bets about others or useing others against people -

I know what you mean Debbie, hateful or swear words come from stupid people...don't think before they speak. I saw a mean spirited commented from a very childish and stupid dotblu member...I don't respond to stupidity here and just flag the comment. I believe it was you who said awhile ago..'if you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all'...I believe that.
